Kilvin builds custom modeling and reporting software for finance teams: underwriting, waterfalls, forecasts, and the client-facing documents that come out of them. The logic and formatting are yours; we turn them into software so the model stops living in a spreadsheet that has to be copied, emailed, and reconciled without an audit trail.
Where spreadsheets break down
Excel is obviously an incredibly powerful tool; spreadsheets are good for building and exploring a model. The challenge our customers face is maintaining a system of record. The teams we talk to usually describe some version of the same problems: several copies of the same model with slightly different assumptions, no clear record of who changed what or when, macros that only one person understands, and client reports that get rebuilt by hand every quarter.
What we build
Deal model software with scenarios, cash flows, returns, and sensitivity analysis
Distribution waterfalls and equity structures
Branded client-facing reports, proposals, and statements, generated straight from your numbers
Deal pipelines and investor tracking that sit next to the models they feed
Built from your model, not ours
Off-the-shelf FP&A and modeling tools generally ask you to adopt their structure. We start from your existing workbook, rebuild its logic as software, and check the outputs against the original before your team switches over. If the numbers don't match, we don't ship.
Who we've helped
RIAs, wealth managers and family offices, estate planners, and finance teams across teams of many sizes.
Frequently asked questions
Can you rebuild the model we already have?
Yes, that’s usually where we start. Send us the workbook and walk us through how your team uses it. We rebuild the logic, inputs, and outputs as software, keeping your assumptions and formatting instead of forcing them into a template. If someone on your team can explain what a tab or macro does, we can build it.
How do we know the math is right?
We check it against your workbook. Before your team switches over, we run the same inputs through the original model and the new software and compare the outputs. If the numbers don’t match, we don’t ship. After launch, you can see who changed an assumption and when, so you’re not reconciling copies by email.
Who can see and change what?
You decide. Everyone works in one shared workspace, and access is set by person. For example, analysts can edit assumptions, partners can review outputs, and clients see only their own reports.
